Lois Talbot
Person-centred counsellor

When I feel really heard,
When I can be honest, and someone is honest with me
When I feel valued and not judged
Then I begin to change – I can become myself.

About Me

I work with adults, older adults and young people over a range of issues including anxiety, depression, panic attacks, bereavement, relationships, self-esteem and spirituality. I have 20 years experience offering relaxation for stress and anxiety.

My Practice

I am a person-centred counsellor. For me, this means that the therapeutic relationship between client and counsellor is at the heart of the process. We meet as persons; you bring yourself as you are and meet me as I am. You are in control of the content and pace of each session.

My work is to be alongside you, to help you to explore your own issues and your own way forward. I will not direct or give you advice. I will try to understand you, be real and honest with you and accept you as you are. Counselling can be challenging, hard work and life-changing. Only you can really know yourself and whether you want to change. I will work with you on your journey.

Person-Centred (Rogerian) Counselling was first developed in the mid-twentieth century by Carl Rogers . I am a registered counsellor and work within the Ethical Framework of BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy).

Qualifications and affiliations: BA (Hons) 'Counselling & Psychotherapy', University of Warwick. Registered MBACP. BSc (Hons) University of London.

I offer an initial session for £30 where we can meet and explore whether I am the right therapist for you. Thereafter my charge is £40 for each 50 minute session.
